KEY MANAGEMENT PROFILE - TV6

Mrs. Shida Bolai, General Manager
Mrs Bolai has worked in the media industry for just over 29 years and currently sits on the Board of Directors of Express Children's Fund, Tobago News, Trinidad & Tobago Publishers & Broadcasters Association, and Starcom Network of Barbados.  She currently holds the position of Vice President of the Caribbean Broadcasting Union. 

She has held various positions within the Group including General Manager, Advertising Manager of Trinidad Express Newspaper and Group Sales Manager – CCN.

She is married and a mother of three.

Mr. Dominic Kalipersad, Group  Head of News & Current Affairs, CCN Ltd
Mr. Kalipersad has multi-media experience both at jounalist and executive levels. He was Editor-in-Chief of the Trinidad Guardian and Programme Director of the Trinidad Broadcasting Company. He was also previously Head of News for the Caribbean Communications Network.

Mr. Kalipersad is an award-winning journalist, including the recipient of The Most Outstanding Television Journalist by the Caribbean Publishers and Broadcasters Association. He was the Principal News Presenter at the now-defunct Trinidad and Tobago Television (TTT). He has trained several successful news presenters and broadcasters.

Mr. Kalipersad finds that the most rewarding part of his job is to provide ordinary people with an opportunity to have their voices heard, "to tell their stories."

Mr. Curtis Wilson, Content Director
Mr Wilson joined TV6 on July 4, 1991 as a Transmission Supervisor with an interest in Programming.  Prior to that, Mr. Wilson had worked at Trinidad & Tobago Television Co. Ltd. from July 1975 as a Trainee Technical

After approximately 6 months at TV6 and with guidance from Bernard Pantin (then General Manager) he was promoted to the position of Transmission & Programming Supervisor for just over a year and then by April 1993 officially became TV6's Programme Manager until April 2007. He now holds the position of Content Director.

Mr Wilson has been the elected President of The Lupus Society of T &T for 31 years, and has been “passing on my experiences to new Systemic Lupus Erythematosus patients, which is more crucial than what physicians advise SLE patients, as each patient's experience is different and each must learn how to cope with day-to-day problems.  The principal aim of the society is to educate patients and their families on how to cope with lupus. We also refer patients to where they can get the best help (to get diagnosed or solve medical issues quickly).”

Ms. Rhonda Ottley, Programme Manager
In September 1999 TV6 received Ms Ottley as the Promotions Coordinator who quickly moved up the ranks when she was promoted to Assistant Programme Manager. Then in April 2007, she was promoted to Programme Manager.

Ms. Ottley holds an MA (merit) in Corporate Communication from Bournemouth University, and a BA (Honors) in Mass Communication from the University of Tampa.,

She especially enjoys travelling to different television symposiums and interacting with all stakeholders, both internal and external, “as my job allows me to meet people on all rungs of the corporate ladder.”

Ms. Ottley especially enjoys “partaking in the greatest show on earth...Trini Carnival.”

Mr. Marcus Chin-Aleong, Marketing Manager
Mr Chin-Aleong joined TV6 in Sept 3, 2007.  He started his marketing career at Legal & General Investment Management, London, working in Direct Marketing of mutual funds (PEPs).  After 2 years, he returned to Trinidad where he joined Lonsdale Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising as a senior account executive, working on varied accounts (automobiles, education, supermarkets and financial services). He gained further experience in marketing research at Republic Bank Ltd as a market analyst and then as an investment analyst before joining CCN TV6 as Marketing Manager.

Mr Chin-Aleong is a member of  CSC (Canadian Securities Institute) and of  CIM.  He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK as well as a BSc in Management from the University of the West Indies.


Mr. Jeffrey Birjoo, Studio Manager
Mr. Birjoo is another veteran in media who joined TV6 in August 1991 as a Senior Technical Director. This, after ten years as a Technical Director at Trinidad & Tobago Television (TTT). In November 2008, Mr. Birjoo was promoted to his present position as Studio Manager.

He credits his experience as a Director - the ability to be creative and work with all major presenters in local television- as being his greatest pleasure at work.

When not at work, Mr. Birjoo enjoys scuba diving and cooking.
